It’s staffed by volunteers undertaking a 16 week Employability Programme, aimed at resourcing and equipping those with major barriers to employment by providing workplace experience, training and mentoring within a growing social enterprise.
The Furniture Re-use Project, based in Brentford, collects unwanted furniture from local homes and businesses (restores them when required) and sells them at very affordable prices to members of the public. Roughly one quarter of all furniture sold goes to low-income households.
What we’ll use your donations for…
Re-ward Club donations would help sustain the work experience for the volunteers and go towards the large running costs of the project. Most of the team on the employability programme are ex-offenders, ex-addicts or ex-homeless and this initiative helps them move on to paid work.

Save money, as well as the Environment
Shopping with Re-ward Club can save you £’s by buying things you would anyway at places you usually wouldn’t. Instead of going to the large High Street shops to buy a new outfit, shoes or books, shop at one of Re-ward Club’s Retail Partners in a shopping area near you. Not only do the items have smaller price tags for the same (if not, better) quality but you can also earn a £5 voucher, saving yet more money.
Buy just a couple of items from our partner retailers to support local businesses, making your money go further and help the environment too, as without you shopping in these places, many of the goods would have ended up in landfill!
Wear it Love it, Share it!
If you have clothes that you no longer wear or want, don’t just throw them away. Swish them! At a Swish you use clothes, shoes and accessories you no longer wear as currency to get items you want in your wardrobe. By Swishing you will get value from the clothes we buy but don’t actually wear anymore.
Bring along clean, good quality items of clothing, shoes or accessories that you no longer wear to swap for other great clothing at West London Waste’s Swishing Events. Find out more about the rules of swishing.

Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year!
The Re-ward Club team would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We would like to also take this opportunity to thank every one of you guys for supporting the Club throughout 2012.
2013 promises to be an exciting twelve months with the Hounslow Launch event, more retailers for everyone to earn Re-ward Tokens in and competitions for members.
So goodbye for now and we will see you next year!
Handbags and Gladrags for the Christmas Party!
It’s officially December which means ‘Its Christmas!’ and it’s the start of the party season! Up and down the country homes and offices are being adorned with tinsel and people are getting excited about rockin’ around the Christmas tree at the annual party. But although everyone is in high spirits with the thought of a week off work over the festive period, there is an air of anxiety as the work Christmas party is looming, and you have nothing to wear!
But have no fear; the Re-ward Club is here to help you find a fabulous outfit and get Re-warded for it too!
To help inspire you we had a wander around some of the Re-ward club retailers in and around Richmond to see how you can indeed look $1million without the need for a bankers Christmas bonus!
Our first, stop – Vineyard Charity Shop in Richmond, a great little shop known to have some great designer clothes in stock for fantastically low prices. Being Christmas, we thought something with a bit of sparkle would be great, and this dazzling piece (being sported by our very own Kirsty) is sure to catch the eye. Brand new this jacket would cost in the region of £95, but here it’s on sale for a tiny £15! And as a Re-ward Club member you could earn 2 Re-ward Club tokens.
That’s not all, we also saw this elegant ensemble on sale for a little over £10. Perfect for the whole night, from the meal and drinks at the start of the evening to the late night boogie on the dance floor.
At our next stop, the Princess Alice Hospice shop in Whitton this dress, jacket and accessories combo caught our eye. A fine example of the range of accessories that is available in Re-ward Club retailers, all of which you can earn your Re-ward tokens on, getting you closer to your £5 voucher!
If these two shops haven’t already persuaded you how many great clothes some of our shops have to offer, we have one last shop to visit, and by jingle did we find some gems in Princess Alice Hospice in Richmond. As we walked up to the store we were greeted by this party dress in the window, and for a measly small sum of £15. A bargain I am sure you will agree but that wasn’t the last festive dress we found in the shop…
We picked out this amazing ‘flapper dress’ for a very reasonable £18. So reasonable in fact that Kirsty bought it after trying it on! Perfect for a glamorous night on the town during and after a party. There was even a sparkling handbag to go with it for miniscule £6.
So there you have it, some great items to keep you looking your best over the Christmas party period, all for a fraction of the cost in a high street shop, and all of which you can earn Re-ward Tokens. If you need an outfit or something to go with party clothes you already own make a visit to your local charity shop this week and see what you can find.
If you haven’t signed up to the Re-ward Club yet, do so now, it’s FREE and only takes a matter of seconds.
And once you’ve signed up you could collect Re-ward Tokens for altering an existing party frock as well. Whether you need it shortening, add some straps or the addition of extra fabric Victory Divine in Harlesden can do a great job for you.
For more information on Re-ward Club or any of the Re-ward Club Retailers visit the website at www.re-ward.me, email contact@re-ward.me or call us on 020 8150 9546.
Wanted! 3 Community groups in Hounslow to benefit from Re-ward Club donations
Re-ward Club is looking for three community groups in the London Borough of Hounslow to become the official community partners of Re-ward Club. As an official partner, Re-ward Club members will be able to donate their £5 vouchers to the chosen community group. The Community Groups selected by the Club members will also benefit from lots of free publicity from Re-ward Club and Hounslow Council.

It’s good for you, great for the environment and could be a fantastic opportunity for any community group.
Community groups including scouts and brownies, sports teams, schools, local charities, tenants associations and youth groups could become a local partner.

Thrifty Gifty Ideas for Christmas!
There’s only a few weeks left to get your Christmas presents. There are so many options it’s often hard to choose. If you’re about the sit down to write a present list or need some inspiration we’ve taken a walk around some of our Retail partners to see what great gifts they have in store. Here are some of the great things we found when we went out and about for our own Christmas present expedition.
Something for her
Our Charity shop partners have some great gifts for the ladies in your life.
The Princess Alice Hospice shops in Whitton, Twickenham, Teddington, Sheen and Richmond have some stylish Baylis & Harding gift sets.
If you know someone who is a bit of a chic chick then why not indulge them in some lavishly fashionable clothes? The Vineyard Charity Shop in Richmond is known to have designer clothes at charity shop prices, with such a wide range of items you may find lots of clothes that you’d like too! Brent Samaritans in Willesden also have some lovely clothes, perfect for those who love to look good!
All of our Charity Shop partners have a wide range of clothes, shoes, hats, scarves, jewellery and other accessories at affordable prices, meaning you can get more for your money and give two items instead of one for your budget!
Perhaps there’s a party dress in the wardrobe that never gets worn because it needs altering or repairing, sneak it off to Victory Divine and present it, alongside a meal out somewhere it can be worn, as a Christmas gift.
Something for him
Men can be difficult to buy for, but our Re-ward Club retailers can help you find the perfect gift to keep any big kid amused for hours.
If he plays air guitar to rock songs on the radio when he thinks nobody is looking, then why not get him a gift to start him on his way to fame? Go on down to Rockhouse Music and pick him up a real guitar, second-hand or new. If he already has a guitar lying around but never uses it as he says ‘it’s broken’ take it along to be repaired and collect your Re-ward Tokens for that too!
If listening to music is more his thing then Brent Samaritans has a great collection of original LP’s from the fantastically low price of 50p. Dad’s always say music sounded better in their day so why not go for a little rummage around and see if you can find his favourite ditty from ‘back in the day’.
It’s a well-known fact that guys like their gadgets, more specifically ones that they can show off to friends, family and neighbours. Atlantic Electronics have the latest in home entertainment technology be it 3DTV’s or surround sound HiFi’s they have a huge host of electronics that any modern man would drool over. They can also repair a wide range of items, getting a favourite gadget repaired is a great present to give.
Blue Gnome Computers can help give new life to a home computer or laptop. Instead of buying a new one you could take your current one in and get it upgraded or looked at to speed it up to make the latest computers game run smoothly so he can win the championship from his armchair or bedroom.
Something for the Kids
The excitment for Christmas is growing and wish lists for Santa are being written. For the presents that Santa can’t fit on his sleigh we have a few ideas for you that will help you collect more Re-ward Club Tokens and maybe get you a bargain too.
All of the charity shops in the Re-ward Club have some great toys for all ages! Whether you want board games, puzzles, cuddly toys, toy cars or dolls you’re bound to find something for any age.
As well as toys you’ll also find a wide range of books, CD’s and DVD’s. There’s clothes too if you need to get a new winter coat or pair of wellies. There are a lot of Re-ward Club charity retailers that will have something that is ideal for all the little ones, helping them have a special Christmas.
Something for Food Lovers
Whether you’re an expert chef or you’re just getting started you’ll find most of the cookware you’ll need in our Re-ward Club Charity Partners.
This stunning 15 piece stone set is from the RSPCA shop on Kenton Road. You could also find a dish big enough for your turkey or a set of serving dishes for the vegetables and roasts you’ll be serving.
Something for the home
We all love buying beautiful things for our homes and we’ve got a retail partner who will have something brilliant for everyone.
The Lovers Lights Gallery on Twickenham Green specialise in art made from recycled material, including some stunning lamps and lighting from recycled glass. So not only will you be adorning your friends home with stylish, modern and practical art you can earn Re-ward Tokens at the same time giving yourself a mini Christmas gift too!
The answer to our Newspaper Conundrum!
Are you intrigued by our question in your local paper? Of course you are, that’s why you’re here!
50 %? – Well, 50% do but it’s actually more than that…
60%? – Higher still…
70%? – Spot on! A staggering number of people wear clothes that someone else had worn before but given away because they didn’t want or need them anymore. Most of the clothes that are given away to Charity are still lovely and are great quality for the small price you pay (if you buy them new it would cost a lot more).
Congratulations if you got it right. Whilst you’re here why not join Re-ward Club? It’s a free loyalty scheme for all residents of the London Boroughs of Brent, Richmond and Hounslow to join and every time you buy clothes or get your clothes altered at the shops in Re-ward Club you’ll collect Re-wards.
Every time you shop in one of our participating retailers you can collect 1 token for every £10 you spend, up to a maximum of 5 tokens on each visit. Once you have collected 10 tokens we will reward you with a £5 Re-ward club voucher to spend at any of the retailers taking part in the scheme.

Donate to Re-ward Club’s ‘Richmond Community Partners’!
The Re-ward Club team are pleased to announce that the three Richmond Community Partners have now been chosen.
After inviting community groups and charities from all over Richmond to apply to become Re-ward Club Community Partners, Richmond Members of Re-ward Club and the local retailer partners voted throughout September to select the final three.
Anyone with a Re-ward Club card will now be able to donate their £5 vouchers to one of these groups to help them fund the fantastic work that they do in Richmond:
Karen Bradley, Manager of Dramatize had this to say on the news:
“Everyone at Dramatize is extremely excited to be part of such an innovative scheme, all money donated will help Dramatize open a new branch within Richmond aiding many more adults with learning disabilities through our theatrical workshops.”
Anna Horton, Development Manager at HRA said:
“Horse Rangers’ work with children and adults with disabilities relies on over 100 volunteers every week from the local community – without these people we wouldn’t be able to run these valuable sessions, but we also need to keep our horses fed and fit and healthy. We’re very excited to be a Community Partner with the Re-Ward Club and this scheme will hopefully allow a lot more local people to support our work!”
Whilst Marg Seddon, Parent Fundraiser for Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts said:
“Petersham & Ham Sea scouts are delighted with the opportunity to be a Re-ward Club Community Partner. Our scouts care deeply about the river they boat on, the fields they camp in and the wildlife they encounter and as a group we work hard to harness this. This incentive to encourage recycling and to support local charitable organisations, such as the Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts, provides an important and valuable message to our young members and their many supporters. Thank you for this opportunity.”
